Welcome to Poway! Known as "The City in the Country," Poway is famous for its family neighborhoods, high-rated schools, golf courses, and more, framed by lovely natural hills and mountains. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 47,811.
Considered part of San Diego's North County, Poway is located off the 15 freeway, south of the city of Escondido. Nearby communities include Rancho Bernardo, Sabre Springs, Scripps Ranch, Rancho Peñasquitos, and Ramona to the east.
