Welcome to Santee! Located just 18 miles from the Pacific Ocean and framed by hills, Santee provides plenty of shopping and family neighborhoods, plus access to multiple freeways. Once rural, Santee has developed into a suburban city in San Diego County with a population of 53,413 at the 2010 census. The San Diego River runs through the city, creating a greenbelt that includes parks, trails and over a thousand acres of natural habitat.
Santee offers abundant outdoor entertainment and activities, including Sportsplex USA Santee, a 15-acre sports field complex, a popular rock climbing venue called Santee Boulders, and Santee Lakes, a park and campground with fishing. The city also hosts a a 10-week series of free concerts, as well as the Santee Wine & Bluegrass Festival.
